TANZCAFÈ SCHWEIGEPFLICHTworld premiere
Music theater breaks the silence cast on unpleasant issues. Singing comes in where speech ends. Life often sounds and looks like sort of an opera.
TANZCAFÉ SCHWEIGEPFLICHT has young people playing old people.
Texts from gerontological experiences are the basis of the libretto. Perhaps this is an unusual subject for the genre of opera, but a burning issue.
The libretto is arranged by writer/director Thomas Desi from Sonja Schiff's book, "10 things I learned about life from the elderly."
Composer Jörg Ulrich Krah has composed the score for small instrumental ensemble, electronics and a mixed cast.
